What You Need To Know
At least 80% of people who die from an overdose do so despite someone being nearby. They die because their overdoses weren't detected in time.
Mobile applications like The Brave App and phone lines like Never Use Alone and the Mass Line can keep people safe while they are using alone. Specialized motion sensors like Brave Sensors and YERP! can detect overdose events in public bathrooms and isolated areas, detecting potential overdose events and activating life-saving responses.
Funds are needed to properly staff current overdose detection programs as well as supporting continued development of initiatives led by people who use drugs.
These programs and products are most successful when community based and not tied to law enforcement agencies.*
